BOXES OF MEDICAL FILES FOUND ABANDONED IN SOUTH BEND
South Bend Tribune – South Bend, Indiana

November 13, 2009 – Medical records that most likely belonged to a doctor who had closed his practice in 1993 were recently found abandoned in a South Bend office building. An agent from the Indiana Attorney General’s office removed 21 of the boxes, which included documentation containing Social Security numbers, diagnoses, and prescriptions—among other sensitive data. A new tenant who moved into the office building in January recently discovered the boxes, and while there has been an attempt to contact Dr. Armand J. Rigaux, the likely owner of the material, those attempts have been unsuccessful.
